Lizzie Borden

Lizzie Borden, daughter of Andrew and Sarah Borden. Born on July 19, 1860 and died on June 1, 1927. She was born in Fall River, Massachusetts. Lizzie had an older sister named Emma. After Lizzie's birth, her mother Sarah died soon after. Three years later her father remarried to a woman named Abby Durfee Gray. When the murder took place, Lizzie was convicted of the murder at the age of 33 when she was still living with her father and stepmother. The Borden sister's relationship between and their stepmother was rumored to have been distant. It is also said that among these rumors that they would call Abby Mrs. Borden. According to biography.com, they said that the family attended the Congregationalist Church, an institution in which Lizzie was particularly involved in. Lizzie has good ethos because of her status and for being a woman who was being convicted of murder. She was among some of the wealthiest families in the town. She had a higher status than that of her maid Maggy, therefore leading people to believe Lizzie's word more than Maggy's.
